Subject	newbie kind of question / timing belt covers

Message	I found this site less than a month ago and have only had my 92 2+2 N/A since may, so I am very new. I have noticed that many people with engine pics do not use the timing belt covers and leave the belt and pulleys exposed. Is'nt this really hard on that belt and somewhat dangerous. These items are kind of sensitive to road debris arent they? Just curious of the pros & cons. Thanx
